English Learners' Advisory Committee (ELAC)

Blackford Elementary School boasts a tremendously active and engaged ELAC committee of approximately 45 members!  Monthly meetings focus on the business outlined by the Campbell Union School District plan for English Learners, but also on building community at our school.  The ELAC meets to discuss the educational program for English Language Learners (ELLs), advise the School Site Council on the expenditure of State categorical funds, and to learn about the rights of students in the California educational system.

Classes in English and computer are offered Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays, between the hours of 8:30-10:30 am. Child care is provided.

During our October 30th Fall Festival, the ELAC raised a whopping $1900 in food sales for our school!- Thank  you for your support!

Our garage sale raised another $900.

We will celebrate the "Day of the Child" with lunchtime games, skits and other activities for children.
