	Creek Clean Up	September 16, 2015 - 1:42pm	As part of Blackford's Adopt-a-Creek Program, we are once again hosting a Los Gatos Creek Clean-up Day on Saturday, September 19, from 9:00 AM - 12:00 PM. This is in conjunction with the National Coastal Clean-up Day activities. If you are interested in participating in this volunteer event please meet in front of Blackford School at 9:00 on Saturday September 19th. All students parents, familty members, and friends are invited to join. Middle and high school students may recieve community service hours as well. Please make sure to wear long pants, long sleeves, bring a hat and some water.
	Thank You	September 7, 2015 - 10:22pm	On behalf of all of the staff at Blackford Ms. Frese and Mrs. Jasper would like to send a huge thank you out to all of the families who were able to make it to Back-to-School Night. We sincerely appreciate you being there. If you weren't able to make it we completely understand as well. Please don't hesisate to ask your student's teacher or one of us about anything you may have missed or if you have questions.
	Join Us For Our First PTA Meeting	September 7, 2015 - 10:10pm	Please join us for our first PTA meeting of the year this Thursday 9/10. We will be talking about several of the exciting opportunities we have in store for our students this year, as well as a variety of ways you can get more invovled with PTA opportunities. We can't wait to see you there!
	English Classes for Adults	August 31, 2015 - 10:42am	We have a very exciting opportunity for our families who are wanting to learn to speak English. We will be offering English classes for adults on our campus. Registration is September 1st from 8:45 a.m. - 11:45 a.m. at Blackford. Classes begin Tuesday, September 8th and will be Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday from 8:45 a.m. - 11:45 a.m.. The cost for the class will be $20.00. We look forward to seeing you there.
	Drop-Off, Pick-Up Safety	August 30, 2015 - 8:18am	We need your help to ensure that your child is dropped off and picked up safely. Leigh Ave. is a very busy street and we are concerned that many people are not using the crosswalk when crossing the street. We are asking that you drop your child off, or pick them up, in front of the school on Willow St. If you have to drop them off or pick them up on Leigh Ave., we ask that you do that in the white parking zone or use the crosswalk. Thank you for your help with this!
	PBIS at Blackford	August 14, 2015 - 5:30pm	At Blackford, we believe in acknowledging positive behavior. We use PBIS (Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports) which recognizes students for their positive behavior, in order to reduce negative behaviors. We teach students to show RAR (Respect, Achievement, and Responsibility) throughout our campus. Please talk with your child about what RAR means at home, as well as at school.
	Back to School Picnic	September 28, 2015 - 10:28am
	Back to School Night	August 14, 2015 - 5:07pm	Please mark your calendars. Our Back to School Night will be held on September 2nd. This year we have the following schedule: TK - 2nd grade meet and greet in your child's classroom 6:00 - 6:30 p.m. School wide introductions and information in the cafeteria 6:40 p.m. 3rd- 5th grade meet and greet in your child's classrom 7:00 - 7:30 Please come and join us and get to know our staff. This is also a great opportunity to meet other families and students in our Blackford community. We look forward to seeing you there!
	Welcome Back Bobcats	September 1, 2015 - 8:20am	I would like to take this time to formally welcome back to Blackford our returning families and those families that are joining us for the first year. We are so excited that you are all a part of our Blackford community. Our dedicated staff has been preparing for a wonderful year of learning, fun, excitement, and rigourous education. This summer we have had some staff changes that I wanted to share with you.
	2015-2016 Class Placements	August 10, 2015 - 2:32pm	Class placements will be posted after 5:00 pm on August 18th at the front office. In order to get your student's class placement, you must have your student ID number with you, which is located on the top right corner of the green "Personal Information" sheet included in your welcome back letter. A limited number of free backpacks will be available for pick up in the cafeteria on Tuesday, August 18th from 11:00 am-1:00 pm. You must be a Blackford student in order to receive a backpack. This is on a first served basis and only one backpack will be given per student.
