	First Week Back Schedule	August 20, 2018 - 10:25am	Wednesday, August 22nd FIRST DAY OF SCHOOL – School begins at 8:35 am and ends at 1:50 pm (for TK, Kinder, 1st, 2nd and 3rd grade) and 2:00 pm (for 4th and 5th grade). Thursday, August 23rd - School begins at 8:35 am and ends at 2:50 pm (for TK, Kinder, 1st, 2nd and 3rd grade) and 3:00 pm (for 4th and 5th grade).

	Welcome Back	August 8, 2018 - 3:46pm	Blackford Bobcats we are so excited to start the 2018-2019 school year. While we hope that you are enjoying the last couple weeks of summer we wanted to ensure that we are providing you with pertinent information to have an incredibly successful start to the year. Tentative Class Assignments: On Tuesday, August 21st at 5:00 pm TENTATIVE class placements will be emailed to you. If you do not receive an email not to worry, we will have several people supporting on the first day of school to help you find your child's teacher.

Please mark these important dates on your calendar and continue to check the website for important information or our Twitter page @BlackfordCUSD Tuesday, August 14^th FREE BACKPACKS- We will be giving away free backpacks to any Blackford Student (limit one backpack per student) that would like one on Tuesday, August 14^th from 11:00 am-1:00 pm and 3:00 pm-5:00 pm in the multi-use room.

	Calling all Kindergarteners	August 2, 2018 - 12:59pm	We would like to welcome all of our new Kinder families to Blackford. Very soon, you will receive information regarding our Kinder round-up event and Kinder orientation. Kinder round-up is an opportunity for our kinder teachers to assess our incoming kinder students in order to gain an understanding of their academic ability and meet their needs in the classroom. In the letter coming home, you will receive a time to bring your child in for assessment on August 15th. If you have any questions or cannot make that time, please call (408) 978-4675.
	Welcome Back	August 2, 2018 - 12:57pm	We are excited to welcome all of our new and returning students to the 2018-2019 school year! We hope everyone had a fun and relaxing summer and can't wait for another great year. Please continue to check our website for updated information.
