	A Message from Superintendent Andrew	August 10, 2016 - 10:47am	Welcome to the 2016-17 school year! We’re ready to begin a new year of learning and growing. Our staff has prepared several innovative programs to enrich students' educational experience and keep them engaged in learning. We’ve also provided some links to help you and your student start the school year right.
	District Adds Infant/Toddler Programs	August 10, 2016 - 9:43am	CUSD Preschool is proud to announce a new tuition-based, year-round, full-day Infant and Toddler program, for children ages 3-36 months. It is located at Rosemary School’s Family Learning Center. This new program expands our variety of early education offerings at each CUSD elementary school. Our district-operated preschools serve children from 3 months to 5 years old with full-day and half-day programs.

	Important Dates in August and September	August 29, 2016 - 11:05am	We hope you are enjoying your summer break! Please mark these important dates on your calendar! Look for details in your Welcome Back envelope which should arrive in your mailbox during the third week of August. Wednesday, August 17th KINDERGARTEN ROUNDUP - Watch your mail during the second week of August for more information about your appointment for Kindergarten Roundup. You will have an appointment for your Kindergartener for an assessment by a Blackford teacher for approximately 20 minutes.
	Apply for School Busing in August	July 27, 2016 - 3:07pm	If you are seeking busing for your child in the 2016-2017 school year, please note the following information.
	Update On Uniform Policy	August 29, 2016 - 11:06am	Blackford students will not be required to wear uniforms for the 2016-2017 school year. Although there were strong numbers in favor for uniforms, the committee did not receive the 90% particpation of Blackford families required to move forward with this initiative. Please note there is still a dress code for our school that should be adhered to. This dress code can be found in the students handbook that will be sent home the first week of school. Please feel free to contact the front office with any questions. Enjoy your summer!

	Board Meeting News - August 18	September 14, 2016 - 2:46pm	The latest issue of Campbell Union School District's Board Meeting News is now online via the e-flyer link on your news page. The issue includes updates on our Strategic Plan goals, the reorganization proposed for Campbell Middle School. Answers to Frequently Asked Questions about the reorganization are also available on the District’s website at campbellusd.org/news/reorg2016faq.
	August 24, 2016: First Day of School!	June 24, 2016 - 9:15am	We hope everyone is enjoying their summer vacation! Wednesday, August 24, 2016, is the first day of school. We are excited to see returning faces and meet new students and their families. Please note that this is a minimum day, and students will be dismissed at the following times: TK-3: 1:50 p.m. 4-5: 2:00 p.m. We look forward to seeing everyone on our first day of school!
	Kinder Round-Up and Orientation	June 24, 2016 - 9:16am	We are extremely excited to meet our incoming Kindergarteners and their families for the 2016-2017 school year. On August 17, 2016, we are holding our anual Kinder Round-Up. If your child is entering kindergarten, you will be given a designated time to bring them to meet some of our kindergarten teachers and receive initial assessments in reading and math. Our PTA will be there to meet everyone as well! If you have any questions, feel free to call (408) 978-4675.
