| New State Survey on Local Control & Accountability Plans | March 14, 2016 - 3:10pm |
The State of California launched a new online survey to improve school districts’ Local Control and Accountability Plans (LCAPs). The LCAPs are key tools for establishing 3-year goals to improve student outcomes and align spending with the goals. Anyone who is interested – students, parents, educators, community members and others –can participate in the survey and help to make the plans easier to use, understand, and review. The survey is open until 5 p.m., March 25, at cdefoundation.org/lcap-survey. |

A Message from Superintendent Andrew Federal Court Judge Kimberly Mueller held a hearing to amend her recent ruling pertaining to the protocol for releasing personally identifiable student information by the California Department of Education (CDE). She noted that the large number of objections the court has already received did indicate a high level of concern from the public. |

The Campbell Union School District is on a mission to ensure each of our 12 schools is a “School of Choice” for our families and community. We want to know what influences your decision when choosing a school for your children. The responses will help us refine our programs to meet the needs of our students and parents by providing an educational experience that is “beyond the expected” at each of our schools and supporting programs. Two of our preschools will begin offering 12-month programming in the 2016-17 school year. Open to ALL families, these 12-month preschool programs will be located at Marshall Lane and Forest Hill schools. We also will be adding a new Toddler classroom, for children ages 2-3, at Marshall Lane, on August 24, 2016. Limited space is available. |

| Walking Routes to Blackford School | February 26, 2016 - 2:42pm |
Blackford families, you will be receiving a map of our community that is going to be sent home with your student. If you and your student walk to school please mark the route that you walk on this paper and return it to your teacher. We are working with the city of San Jose to develop safe walking routes to school and in order to do this effectively we need your input and feedback. Thank you so much for continuing to support the safety of our students and families. |

Student privacy and confidentiality are top priorities for us. A recent lawsuit against the California Department of Education (CDE) regarding confidential student data is impacting all school districts across the state. We want to make you aware of this case and provide you with important information about it. Campbell Union School District was not involved in the lawsuit and is not the subject of any of the suit’s allegations. Our District is not required to disclose any student information, nor does it intend to do so. |

A vacancy in the membership of the Campbell Union School District Governing Board has occurred by reason of the resignation of Board Member Juliet Tiffany-Morales, effective March 10, 2016. The District is accepting applications to fill the vacancy by provisional appointment. Applications are available at the District Office, 155 N. Third Street, Campbell, CA.
