In the weekly envelope today you will notice you are receiving a school compact. In the past this was part of the student handbook notices that you recieved and signed at the beginning of the year. This year it is a separate document. This compact is an agreement between the school and our wonderful Blackford families and talks about our responsibilites to ensure each of our students' success. If you have any questions please feel free to contact your child's teacher or the front office. Thanks for all you do to support not only your student, but all Blackford students.

Open Enrollment January 13, 2017 - 4:05pm

It is time for CUSD open enrollment. Please note the following dates:

Entering Kindergarten: January 17th - February 10th

Entering Middle School: February 1st - February 10th

Forms for 4th graders entering 5th grade in the 2017-2018 school year will be mailed home. Forms for TK or Kindergarten and 5th grade students going into 6th grade in the 2017-2018 school year are available in the school office. For more information contact the front office at 408-978-4675

Parking and Traffic on Leigh Ave. January 13, 2017 - 10:00am

Please help us with enforcing safety for our students and families on Leigh Ave. If you have a concern about the traffic and parking violations occurring on Leigh Ave. please contact the Traffic and Parking Enforcement for San Jose at (408) 534-2900. The more families who call and support our mission to make Leigh Ave safe, the better. Anytime you see something reportable please report it. If we are diligent and consistent as a community in calling, together we can make a difference regarding the safety of our students and families on Leigh Ave.
Volunteer Opportunity January 9, 2017 - 8:08am

Do you have some time to donate to Blackford after school? We are still looking for volunteers to help with traffic duty during dismissal. Please come to the front office if you are interested in helping with this very important volunteer position that helps to keep all of our students and families safe here at Blackford.
Positive Discipline Classes at Blackford January 6, 2017 - 3:24pm

Would you like to know how to develop strategies to solve family conflicts? Would you like to know why children behave certain ways and what you can do to help? Would you like to learn how to earn the cooperation of your children? We would like to help you to develop responsibility, independence, healthy self-esteem, and respect in your children. This Positive Discipline Class series is offered by Organización Edificando Vidas in collaboration with Campbell Union School District, Blackford Elementary School and sponsored by School Services, and funded by Measure A.
Coffee With Our Superintendent January 6, 2017 - 1:45pm

Please join us at Blackford on Friday, January 13th as we host Dr. Andrew for our annual coffee with the Superintendent. This is an opportunity to sit down with Dr. Andrew to talk about a varitey of topics and ask any questions you may have regarding our district. There is no agenda set so please feel free to come and chat and enjoy some coffee. We look forward to seeing you there.
