Books for Blackford Students and Families

Blackford Elementary School has been selected to receive 400+ books as part of Pi Beta Phi’s Fraternity Day of Service. As part of their Read > Lead > Achieve ® program, the organization will be distributing 20,000 books to local schools, community groups, local literacy programs, and families on Saturday, Feb. 27, at a special event to be held at Macy’s Sunnyvale (200 W. Washington Avenue, Sunnyvale).

Families are invited to bring their children to the event between 10:00 and 2:00 to participate in literacy activities and to pick out a book for each child. 

Additionally, children can participate in a drawing (K – 3) contest and a writing contest (4 – 6) prior to the event. The award winners will receive $100 toward a savings account.
