Important Dates in August and September

We hope you are enjoying your summer break! Please mark these important dates on your calendar! Look for details in your Welcome Back envelope which should arrive in your mailbox during the third week of August.

Wednesday, August 17th
KINDERGARTEN ROUNDUP - Watch your mail during the second week of August for more information about your appointment for Kindergarten Roundup. You will have an appointment for your Kindergartener for an assessment by a Blackford teacher for approximately 20 minutes.

Wednesday, August 17th at 4:00 pm
KINDERGARTEN ORIENTATION - with the Principal and Kindergarten Teachers in the Multi-Use Room. Please join us for some information and to ask any questions you may have.

Tuesday, August 23 at 5:00 pm
CLASS LISTS POSTED – You will need your five digit student ID number found in the envelope which was mailed to you earlier in August. No names will be listed for privacy.

Wednesday, August 24
FIRST DAY OF SCHOOL – School begins at 8:35 am and ends at 2:50 (for TK, Kinder, 1st, 2nd and 3rd grade) and 3:00 (for 4th and 5th grade). Wednesdays are minimum days at Blackford. TK through 3rd grade will be released at 1:50 and 4th and 5th grades will be released at 2:00.

COFFEE AND KLEENEX –At 8:50 am, after you have dropped off your child in the classroom, feel free come to the Multi-Use room to meet other parents and hear from the Principal and Assistant Principal. This is very informal and is an opportunity to meet and greet as we know sometimes the first day of school can be hard on parents with saying goodbye to their little ones.

BACK TO SCHOOL NIGHT
6:00-6:30 pm  3rd, 4th and 5th Grades (in your child's classroom)

6:40 - 7:00 All parents welcome to the multi-use room for introductions of staff and some school information.

7:00-7:30 pm  TK, Kindergarten, 1st, and 2nd Grades (in your child's classroom)
