New Leadership at Blackford

A message from the new Principal and Assistant Principal

A message from Ms. Ajlouni-

Mrs. Smith and I would like to take this opportunity to briefly introduce ourselves to the Blackford community.  To begin with, we would like to say we fully acknowledge having both Ms. Frese and Mrs. Jasper leave Blackford this past school year is a major change for the school community.  We recognize all they contributed to the site with their deep dedication to the community and their strong leadership.  We would like to assure the school community we will remain in close contact with both Ms. Frese and Mrs. Jasper in an effort to ensure the transition is as seamless as possible for everyone at Blackford.  Along with knowing we will continue the good work they both started, Mrs. Smith and I are excited to bring our strengths, talents and passions to Blackford.

A little bit about me-

I am very proud to say I have been an educator in CUSD for over 33 years.  I began my career at Castlemont School in CUSD, where I taught for 25 years.  While at Castlemont, I had the pleasure of teaching students in grades First-Fifth.  While teaching, I sought my master’s degree in Educational Leadership and Social Justice, along with my administrative credential.  After teaching at Castlemont, I had the privilege of serving as an Equity Coach in the District, working to support both Lynhaven School and Forest Hill School.  I also had two opportunities to serve as the principal for the district summer school program at Rosemary School and Capri School.  For the past seven years I have had the honor of serving Lynhaven School as their Assistant Principal.  It has always meant so much to me to be able to serve the staff, students, and families of CUSD in these various educational roles.  To now become the principal of Blackford is such an honor and a privilege.

Mrs. Smith would also like to tell you about herself and her background-

I am so excited to be the Assistant Principal at Blackford! I came to Campbell Union from Moreland School District where I taught fourth grade, third grade, and worked as an instructional coach. I have a B.A. in Child and Adolescent Development from San Jose State University and a masters in Public Administration from University of San Francisco. This is my first year as an Assistant Principal and I look forward to supporting the Blackford community.
